Finding the gems is hard work.

On the day of a planned film shoot in Nepal, our local crew sent us this message: “There’s a national strike; roads are blocked.” We cannot take the car to the shooting location. “We will walk.”
So they did.
Packed with all their equipment, they walked for 8 hours, uphill, to get to a remote school which had a great story.
Sometimes finding the gems is hard work, but it’s also incredibly rewarding.

In this remote school in Nepal we portrayed a young girl called Yashoda who is fighting for her right to quality education.  Her story is one of four stories we’ll film in Malawi, Mozambique, Nepal and Tanzania. They’re part of a global  campaign by ActionAid on tax justice and quality education for girls.

The ActionAid campaign aims to mobilize local audiences, as well as the international community. The films will be launched in April of this year, so check our website and social media for updates and support the campaign.
